The Fear Cycle
Fear bubbles up from the unconscious and attracts situations that make us experience what we fear because this allows the energy of the fear to express itself. The energy we have inside and anchored in our bodies is like a magnet that attracts experiences to match. Thus, to avoid attracting more fearful situations and stop the cycle of fear, it is important to face fears and release their negative energy.
Here is how the fear cycle works. An event evokes a perception of a threatening situation in someone, which elicits fearful thoughts and feelings.
The person formulates mental pictures of the anticipation of pain. This elicits negative emotions and attracts experiences that match the negative energy. Most people try to cope with such an unfortunate situation by escaping, avoiding, and becoming angry. This allows the fear to remain unprocessed until the next time another event triggers it and causes the whole cycle to reoccur. Each time the same fear is triggered without healing, the fear is energized, allowing it to grow more.

Fears are very painful and if you don’t know how to identify the source of the problem, it can be overwhelming and confusing. The problem is often blamed on something outside yourself, and blaming what is happening on the outside hides the real problem. It is through self-examination, connecting, and letting go of fearful emotions that one can live free from fear.
